"Hurt people hurt people." Can't remember where I heard that, but I somewhat agree. Man or woman, you're going to encounter individuals who just haven't sorted their stuff out--haven't done the inner work to make themselves a good partner. It's unfortunate, especially when you love them. But another hard truth is that, no one can really love another until they love themselves. So, I feel for you, Damon, that you've drawn the short straw too many times.
